Suggestions for laptop backpacks?

Hi ATOT,

I'm tired of carrying two bags, one for textbooks and one for my laptop and I would llike to integrate the two.

The idea of a laptop backpack is very intriguing to me but it seems that most backpacks store the laptop right next to where my back would be. This doesn't seem like a very good setup as it could put a lot of stress on the laptop when I sit or when I am walking.

What do you have and how does it work?

Thanks!

I just keep my laptop in a sleeve and throw it into my existing backpack. No special pocket for the laptop. That way, I can put my laptop in the safest spot (in front of textbooks if carrying those, behind spiral notebooks, etc...)

My backpack has a little slot for the laptop, that presses up against my back. Never had any problems, although I had to get out of the habit of throwing my backpack to the ground really quick. I also have a sleeve for it but haven't found a need for it.

If you're that worried about it just buy a padded sleeve (mine is pretty thin that is why it is useless). I don't see the point in buying a whole new backpack.

My mom has one that she basically keeps the laptop in all the time. You can still open and use it with the padding on. Maybe look into something like that?

For us Canadian Ferengi who are comfortable and secure in our sexuality, Targus.com has the Targus Explorer Notebook Backpack for sale for $29.97, marked down from $89.99. You'll understand what I mean about the sexuality part when you see the colour. 😛

The thing is that I have a massive backpack right now which I easily use most of the space in. With that in mind I think a sleeve is probably better for me, thanks for the suggestion though. 🙂
