my specs:

mobile 2400xp @2.0ghz
NF7-s v2
1 gig corsair xms 2-3-2-6
BFG 6800 oc
160 gig seagate
350W Antec Smartpower (stock ps w/ antec 3700BLQ)

ok, here are the problems:

1) cpu is unstable and games crash to desktop when i try to overclock the multiplier past 10.5 or fsb past 190. immediately stable again when i lower these 2 back down.

2) when i try to overclock my video card, it won't pass the test even if i try to set the clock speed by 1. however, i was able to unlock 16 pipes and 6 vertex no problem which gave me a good 3dmark03 score increase.

my cpu/case temps at idle are 37C and 26C so i didn't think there's a problem w/ overheating. i thought there was a problem w/ my ram, b/c it doesn't reach past 190 fsb at all, but then again it could be mobo or power supply?

Hmm, have you used any power rail monitoring software to check your psu for voltage fluctuations?

Use MotherboardMonitor to check this, but I am going to guess your psu is too weak.

Have you upped the voltage on your CPU?

What's the temperature of your video card?

it could definately be your PSU, as even though it is a good 350W psu, it is still only a 350. if you decide to go for a new one, go with a Fortron 530. good and pretty cheap at $76 + shipping at newegg.

i've tried upping the voltage for my ram, cpu, etc, but it immediately becomes unstable. i didn't know if it was b/c of my mobo, processor, or ps. the thing is, i've been running it at 200 x 11.0 for the past year 24-7. it wasn't until i started trying to play world of warcraft that i got these problems. it'll quit back to desktop w/ a out of bounds memory error or blue screen of death. after lots of troubleshooting, i finally have it stable, but it required me to drop my fsb to 190 and my multiplier to 10.5. if i up either one, it becomes unstable again. my video card shouldn't be the problem, b/c it was giving me the exact same errors when i had the 9800 pro. i just upgraded to 6800 oc a few days ago. i'm running it on default voltages right now and the case is definitely kept cool.

Hi chinkee,

Find the "sys log" feature in MBM5 (it's about 3/4's of the way down on the left-hand side of the main screen), select to have it right the data to text.doc and choose intervals of one second. It'll take readings of the voltages and temps and record them to log/file in the MBM5 folder.

You can then go back and see your fluctuations second-by-second.
