Suggestions for a new mousepad?

Hiya guys, been a lurker for a bit, but have not posted before.

I recently bought a Logitech MX 510 mouse(yesterday) And I LOVE it. I had some optical MS mouse.. was ok, no complaints but no praises either. On a variety of different surfaces my old MS mouse worked pretty much the same... but ive notice that with my logitech mouse.. with its higher capture rate and higher DPI some surfaces matter. Like my wooden desk works better then my mousepad. But I wont use wood because of the friction.. and would wear out my pretty new mouse.

I currently have an older Ratpadz.. I dont like it very much.. it worked OK with my old MS mouse.. but my new Logitech does not get its maxium potential out of it. I also do not like the fact that it warps.. and no matter what I do it will warp back in about 24 hours. I can balance it on some sort of edge.. and stand on the outter sides.. and the thing will still warp back. It tries to make a dome in the middle, its very annoying.

I was seriously considering http://www.xtracpads.com/zoom.htm But if you take a look at the big red letters.. Feb. 13, 2004 "The XTrac Zoom optical mouse pad does not work with recently purchased Logitech optical mice"

So there went that idea. Any help would be appreciated. I am a gamer, so I am looking for something high end. Thanks :)

Check out this thread

Personally, I have a Logitech MX310, and it works great with my Ratpadz and teflon mouse feet (even though it goes through the mouse feet fairly fast).

Ever thought about getting a fUnc Surface 1030? I've heard good things about them, but never used one.

I will look in to both of those. Thanks. Im hoping a lot of people will give me feedback :)

Update: my ratpadz is just worn out. The back side of the pad works fine still. Except for the rubber dots and its still majorly curved. But the Tread? is still good where it has not been worn down and the mouse works great on that...But i wont buy another.. not worth it when it warps

I`m using the Flexiglow FX game pad, review here and here ,note mine is the new version with the button more flush with the pad so doesn`t effect gaming.

It works great and looks good which`s a bonus,I would also recommend Everglide Giganta(have one as well) & Richochet models,fUnc 1030 is also another good choice.

Ok. I have decided between a fUnc mousepad and a Icemat. Does anybody have any suggestions on either of these? From personal experience.

Also, does anybody know the difference between a Black Icemat and a regular Icemat?

Wondering if there will be a difference between the two with my logitech mx510 mouse.

For optical mice go with the black ICEMAT,the normal Icemat is not really designed for optical mice,so go with the black version.

I'm all about the funcpad - But i use a relatively moderate sensitivity in games
the FuncPad is a relavitvely large pad and can easily accomodate a mouse, but if you're an extremely low sensitivity guy, you may find it cramped for space (but not likely)

The multi sides makes this an interesting offering as well. It took awhile to get used to the feel of the mx300 on the rough side, but now, i love it. This pad has never forced my mouse to 'skip' on screen, and the rubber base makes it difficult to slide the pad when i want to, much less when i dont. ( i physically life the pad now to move it :p)

The pad is without a doubt the most pleasing aspect of my computer. I love it and my mouse loves it too.
I would give the func 10out of 10.

The only real turnoff of the pad is the price, but now it's around 18 dollars i believe.
Hope this helps-

Still can't beat my cloth Allsop. You can get them cheap at Circuit City. Best feel and precision of any mousepad I've used (I hate hard mousepads).
