Suggestions for $50'ish "Thank You" gift to send to a female support tech?

Last weekend we had some problems with one of our systems. A programmer analyst that assissts us put in A TON of hours on the weekend and really helped dig us out of a hole.

The gift would be paid out of my own pocket since my company really isn't into "gifting". I haven't really done this sort of thing and I want to be business like about it and not seem like it's something it's not since I am sending it to a younger, female employee that I work with quite a bit.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice gift basket or a company that would deliver something along those lines?

Price is somewhat flexible too. I would spend more if necessary.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Personally I'd get at least one more person to go in on it with you or at least have others sign a card so it doesn't look like it's coming only from you.

Sexual harassment being what it is these days, I just don't like to take chances.

Gift cards are always a safe, non-personal gift to give to someone. Good for the corporate world.

Agreed...or a voucher at a local theater or restaurant.

most of the gifting at my office usually involves an Amex gift certificate. you can use it anywhere for anything as long as that establishment accepts Amex. might want to consider that to stay in the 'safe' zone of things.

Hrm...

Local stuff would be tuff. I'm 6 hours away from where her office is. Maybe what I'll do is contact her human resource department and try and coordinate things through them. I'm sure they have lots of local gift cards and whatnot that they give out on regular basis for awards and merit. Maybe I could "buy" some off of them and have them give them to her.

Coming from an HR department would be more professional, yes?

The thanks should be coming from your organization, if you wish to foot the bulk or all the costs, that is OK.

As others stated, a gift certificate to a local medium scale store would be best. Avoids any implications and/or confusion.

Thank you card to go with the certificate stating {b]that your assistance in our emergency was greately appreciated. Please accept this as a token of our appreciation.[/b]

If you're 6 hours away, and you're doing it as a reward for a big favor, there is honestly no chance in hell you will get in trouble for sexual harrassment no matter what you give her (unless you send her lingerie.)

I suck at gifts though so I can't really help you here. I like the restaurant money idea.
