Suggestion

Hi guys,

Want to get some suggestion about an old motherboard.

Brand : Asrock
Chipset: SIS730S
Man SKU: MB-M810LMR
Athlon 1400

Im not looking into gaming but just office use.
What other compnoents can I use for this mobo. Likewise what memory, video card, sound card, etc.
Please Advise .
Thank you for your time.

Don't get mixed up here! ASRock did a publicity stunt back then, by "borrowing" the name of the extremely popular PC-Chips M810LMR mainboard to push their own effort into the market. The PC-Chips board indeed uses the SiS 730S and offers an AGP slot (in all but the very earliest revisions), while the ASRock lookalike uses VIA KL133A and has no AGP slot.

Either board has video and audio integrated, and uses SDR PC133 DIMMs. No add-on cards required for a complete PC at all.

Well I dont know much about hardware stuff but SIS730S and the Man sku are the ones i know. What else can I do for this mobo?

I'll say it again: The ASRock M810LMR uses a VIA chipset. The PC-Chips M810LMR (which was there first) uses the SiS 730S.

The link you gave screws it up too - pictures the PC-Chips board, but advertizes the ASRock. (Which is exactly what ASRock's intention probably was ...)

If you don't believe what I say, then please visit the respective vendor's sites and download the manuals.

you can use the board for Office and surfing the net plus light gaming, I build many computers with the Sis 730, and Via KT 133, my sister is using the KT133 made from Biostar and the board aint have the AGP slot , she is using CAD too
