My current setup:
E2140 @ 2.8Ghz
Gigabye P35 ds3l
2gig ddr2
seagate 7200.10 harddrive
9250 PCI graphic card
15" monitor

buying from canada only.

should i get:

3450 for $46? http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=12030BD9147

2600 pro for $73?
http://www.infonec.com/site/ma...odule=detail&id=349632

2400 pro for $44?
http://www.infonec.com/site/ma...odule=detail&id=349535

8400gs for $40?
http://www.infonec.com/site/ma...odule=detail&id=351420

8500gt and 8600gt are plagued with $40 MIR's and I hate MIR's so they are ignored.

I dont want to spend too much on video card because I game on either 800*600 or 1024*768

EDIT:i would also like to overclock the card i buy to the maximum for some performance gains without cost.

Thanks for comments

Try to get your hands on a used card ? Or save 2-4 more weeks, by then you might actualy be able to get your hands on a HD3850 256mb card for 120$ or so. Maybe even less, with the 8800gs selling for 130$ ish ?

I have never heard of g200 so i take it as a joke ^^

does the gs perform better than 2400's or 3450's?

Do you think the extra price is worth the performance gains? I will use the savings towards a 22" and 9800gt in the future.

the asus gs is $16 more expensive, is there a significant advantage over the palit i listed?

i think the 8500gt performs worse than 2600pro, and this one has no fan so i am worried about the overclocking abilities.

Is the 3850 256mb really going to drop to about $120 in a couple of weeks? the current lowest price for it is $180 here. 512mb starts from $200. The 8800gs is on a surprise sale for $150 here (newegg has it for $120, wished they ship to canada). Again, this is used on a 15" monitor, I suppose that $100 cards in a year will outperform 3850 right?

No, not to 120$ if they cost 180$ now. How lame is that, 180$ buys you a 8800gt in the USA. I don't get it. In holland a 8800gt also costs 200 euros = 300$. AMD has announced price drops though, coming in second/third week of March.

Do they sell a 3650?
It's about 80 bucks here and faster then a 8600gt if you don't like rebates.

Cards in Canada are expensive!

180$ for a 8600gts dam!

Edit: heres a 3650 for 88.00$ no rebate. Thats a good deal for your country. No offence.

The expensive price is due to ncix's monopoly in online retails... they own directcanada too.

HD 3650 is better (supposedly) than HD 2600XT, which is equal to 8600GT. Oddly enough, there aren't a lot of benchmarks floating around yet.

i thought 8600's are much better than both of them according to benchmarks..
