Suggestion for the Social forums, which should make everyone happy...

Currently if you click on the "Social" macro-category, you're brought to a page which only lists the various sub-forums. As people mention every once in a while, it's a bit constricting to have the social forums so fully categorized, as most people tend to visit the same forums over and over again. So, for example, you're unlikely to have a "car guy" ever stopping by the relationship forum to give his point of view. Similarly, it's unlikely that people who are indifferent to politics are going to post much in the P&N forum, since it's mostly full of people who've made up their mind and just like to argue.

As a solution to this, why not make all threads from all Social subcategories visible directly under the main "Social" category? This way, if people want to follow the activity in all the various social forums, they can do so from one page. And if they only want to see car threads, they can still just browse the car subcategory.

I do not believe this can be done with FuseTalk, but should be a possibility with vBulletin (you know, if AT ends up switching some time in the next few years)

Doubt it - I've scoured the net to find something for vBulletin that does this but to no avail. Not like the powers that be here would care even if there was something.

This place is practically dead now. OT moves way too slowly and members are just dropping off. Sad to see a community go 🙁

They're not dropping off, they're just hanging out in the subforum of their choice, which happens not to be OT.

My PM box is full of messages that are tired of the constant whining and just general rudeness that is now OT. People hang in the tech areas instead.

Hm, it's definitely something that should be possible. Perhaps some enterprising young coder could make it happen.

You know, I've been around for a while, and I really don't think it's any ruder than it used to be. People probably just have thinner skins.

Or just completely eliminate subforums and go back to the days of YAGT, YACT etc.

This would be too logical, you crazy person. It's much better to have over 9000 sub forums, then ask for more because the Scroll Lock key and Pringles don't have their own special place.

How is the forum traffic looking? Is it down after the split or has it stayed relatively even?
