Suggestion for case ~60 or under (no PS)

I'd like something nice, sleek... I don't like cases with the doors on the front, nor do I like anything really flashy... i'm not a fan of all these cases recently that seem to be geared towards 14 year olds with ADD and the sole dream of appearing on Pimp My Ride

I'm hoping for something sleek, simple, maybe a window is the way for me.

EDIT: k... here's what i've found so far... opinions are much appreciated!

Centurion 5 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119047
and with window: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119077

I know people like these, so I'd really like opinions on the following... I know they're not as well known, but they're cheap, and price does factor in here. ~60 is my max, but really I should probably aim lower.

The cases:

Spire SP-7202B: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811220011
XCLIO 6020BK: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811103006
Ever Case ECE4502: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811127068 - Oooh just noticed only 2 internal 3.5 bays on this one. I have 3 hard drives, so scratch that one. Looks pretty nice though.

I'l add more as I find them.

Well, Cooler Master Cavalier has a front door but it is quite classy looking...I believe it is $40 after rebates at newegg right now

Doors are good for keeping the optical drive noise down and for keep down the fan noise if it's a door that covers the whole front.

I think the Centurion 5 would be a good bet. Or even wait for the Thermaltake Matrix VX (2x 120mm, one front, one rear, no side fan to mess stuff up...at least for my airflow)

doesn't a front door massively impede airflow?

Not necessarily.

Personally, I'd go with the Antec if I were you.......2X120mm fans make for great airflow and the case is laid out well.....pleanty of room, sturdy, quiet. The door is not a problem and doesn't hurt air flow plus, if you don't like it, take it off!😉 Cent. 5 is a nice case.I had one but not much for 80mm fans and the side opening hurts more than help plus, my chip fan is a 120mm and heands my CPU air directly toward the 120mm exhaust fan......

Alrighty, i went for the centurion 5 with side window... I was a bit wary of only an 80mm and 120 mm fan, (i'd much prefer 2x120 or better), but then i realized the front is mesh... So, i imagine that with the 120mm flowing out along with the PSU fan that there would actually be a reasonable amount of air passively coming into the front of the case to fill the vaccum, eh?

I think i'm going to take apart my old chenbro and build a new case around it...

Inadequately cooled pieces of junk each and every last choice in the original post. Being hobbled by your budget keeps me from reading further.

Please don't crap up my thread.

At least break yourself off a piece and get at least this much...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133132

A lousy $40.00 U.S. more! Now, I know you are all insulted and whatnot at this point. You are probably pinging around thoughts in your pea sized brain much like the thoughts that used to ping around in my pea sized brain as well like...

Ok, you send me the $40.00 if it's no big deal!

It's a case, not a shrine!

I'm wacking you over the head here in an attempt to be your friend and friends don't let friends buy garbage! Modern computers need serious airflow, especially when you are sticking with a cramped mid sized case. Sure it all fits and then some, but like 5 pounds of it crammed into the one pound bag!

I've gone both routes here and can tell you by experience... real world experience that it is $40.00 extra well worth spending!

And because I want to introduce myself to you as a true friend, I can't lie to you and tell you what you want to hear instead of what is needed, bare minimum to do the job!

The trouble with your post is that it criticized without providing anything constructive. I see you are quite new to anandtech, so I feel i should warn you that we do not respond well to threadcrapping. Also there is no need to post two messages in a row - I know you're new and want to get up your postcount, but you'll soon find that postcount matters very little around here. character counts. 269 posts in 8 days? Go play outside.

Furthermore, $40 is quite a lot to some of us.

Also, friend, if you had read my original post, you would know that I hate doors on PCs.

1) I could care less about post count and yes, you are right, I could have made both statements in the same response, but I wanted you to notice them based on their merrits and not on your psychotic preconceptions of me or anybody else

2) I'm new to this forum and so what? I've been part of giving solid advice on PC's for more than three years, although where I do it changes from time to time. There are good reasons why when you Google for Luckyboy, my Luckyboy's Guide For Complete Users comes up as your first choice.

3) I think I acknowledged the fact that money is important in my response. I've responded as I've done based on experience, rather than lack of it in posting and what it takes if not to ever get your attention, which in the end doesn't matter, but maybe keeping one or two of the lemmings from dancing down the same path you are stuck on now... if I've accomplished that much, it has been two finger punching well served!

4) As far as the door goes, get over it or remove the ah heck completely. See, it works either way!

My very best to you Mr. Billions of posts served! Maybe if you paid more attention to what is said instead of who's saying it, you'd get a bit more out of this and other forums!
