I just started to overclock my Duron 650, I'm new to this and was wondering how to figure out the best core voltage.

What ever is the lowest voltage that it will run with out problems. The lower the voltage the cooler the chip

My 700 Tbird dances at 850 at only 1.7v but won't load windows at 900 unless its at 1.85v. Just try each voltage untill it works and is stable.

I started with a 650 at 1.5, I run fine at 850 at 1.65. Higher clockspeeds aren't 100% stable, even when I went up to 1.775. Didn't want to push it any higher.

sig. Like they said, as low as you can whilst still being stable. Running your chip ata high voltage WILL degrade it's lifetime. But we're still talking YEARS. And let's be frank, who ever keeps a chip for more than two years maximum? Most of us change every 9 - 12 months so chip wear is not an issue!
