Hi guys,
I need a suggestion for ssd to be used on my primary PC, it will be a boot device, and the os will be win 7,.
My config , amd a8-3870k / Asus f1a55 m/csm / corsair 4gb x 2 DDR 3 memory @ 1600 MHz.

Samsung 840.

Crucial M4, Samsung 830, Intel 330, 335, and 520 were all good last generation.

There isn't going to be a noticeable performance difference between any of these, so get whatever's cheapest.

Looking at Flipkart, I see that the Samsung 840 is actually the cheapest 120GB at Rs. 6208, so you're good there. If you wanted larger, I'd suggest getting two of them and putting them in RAID 0, considering that the cheapest 240GB drive is almost exactly twice the price.

But do we know how the 840s perform, WITHOUT trim? He's on AMD, remember? No TRIM for RAID-0 on AMD.

When I use Samsungs Magician performance optimization which takes a few minutes it takes speed test before and after and it seems to help.
