She's going to be 13 next month, figure I'll get her a game or two for the PC I built her last year.

On the consoles she likes Animal Crossing and Pokemon.

So far on PC she likes Armadillo run and dislikes Rollercoaster Tycoon 3.

She has zero interest in "shooting games", and most other violent games. No RTS for her either :p

Ideally, I'd love a physics sandbox game like Armadillo Run, only with far more content. Nothing too challenging, she didn't like how hard Armadillo Run can be.

She's got a Pentium D 2.8GHz (I built this just before intel announced the 2xxx series, sadly, and she couldn't afford the nicer procs) on a P965 Express chipset (again, massive budget limit a year ago). She's got my old 7300GS for graphics, and 2GB DDR2 800 RAM.

yeah, I own that because it's an awesome game. It's "too hard" for her.

I'm also looking for PC games for her, not Gamecube. I moved out and she doesn't have access to a gamecube anymore.

You evil bastard. You took your little sister's Gamecube? ;)

Give it back...You have a good PC for gaming. She needs something, lol

Get her a copy of Donkey Konga or Mario DDR. That will keep her busy.

If you insist on PC games, my lil sis also likes The Sims, and the Harry Potter games.

No, it's my Gamecube (well, Wii now, actually).

She only owns her own DS and several GBAs. And her PC.

I'm probably going to wind up getting her The Sims. Does number 2 support widescreens, and how does it run on a 7300GS?

I wish, but Portal would scare the living hell out of her. Maybe in a few years.

So basically puzzle games and rpgs?

Portal's pretty cool but it's bordering on FPS just cause of the way it plays.

Scare her? Its got stationary turrents and slow moving energy orbs.

It's also creepy as hell. Ambiance, man, ambiance. It scares the hell out of my girlfriend. My sister would scream.

Yes, some lightweight RPGs would be perfect. Know of any?

Hmm lightweight rpgs... for pc... might dig up some of the old FF's? Never my cup of tea, but teenage girls seem to like em.

I used to have both FFVII and FFVIII on PC. Some of the worst ports ever. Plus she doesn't like Final Fantasy, won't even try the good SNES ones. Or Chrono Trigger, or SMRPG, or any other good console RPG that isn't Pokemon >_<

Hmm... I say hand her a 2 ft syringe and a giant shopvac with a drill on it and send out to collect Adam.

My mother would go beserk if I tried to get my little sister to play Bioshock, plus I doubt it would run decently on her 7300GS. Hell, I question even portal, I was only ever able to test HL2 @ 1024x768 when I owned that card.

Should run ok, yes it does wide screen reses fine. Girls love it all my sisters did.

Wish you posted this earlier I sold a sims 2 collection of every sims 2 game for $100 on ebay a few weeks ago. Some dad bought it for his daughters 13th birthday.

Viva Pinata w/ a 360 controller?

Look into arcade multipacks or something like that, or maybe Peggle?

Peggle she'd love... but can it be done without steam? She kinda lacks internet access (paranoid parents).

Point her at PopCap.com and she'll be puzzled for months.

Viva Pinata has a PC version, I haven't played it myself

The Incredible Machine series is probably around somewhere as abandonware, and I think there's a successor to them at GarageGames.com

Smart parents. Honestly if any parents can get a girl to 15 without her becoming a total whore in this day and age, they're doing something right.

If you hook her computer up long enough to reg a Steam account and purchase the game, it can be set to offline mode and she can play without net access.

*I* understand that. My parents will not abide by it.

They're still at the "the internet is all viruses and pedophiles" stage of computer understanding.
