Robert Jordan - Wheel of Time

Hoping Knife of Dreams doesn't disappoint like the last few.

Orson Scott Card - Ender's Game

One of the best books ever. Now if they'd just get the movie going.

Lois McMaster Bujold - Verkosigan Saga

Good series

Mixing up fantasy and sci fi, but that's been happening lately.

Also Katherine Kerr's Westlands series and Anne Mccaffrey's Pern series.

My ADHD having, gen-x'er raised on video games and internet access @ss hasn't finished a book in years. I read all the time, but it probably ATOT, magazines, quest logs or reference manuals.

I can't read for long. I fall asleep.

I'm surpised nobody has said Orson Scott Card yet.

Me too, but he's VERY overrated anyway.

Here are a few I like:

Peter F. Hamilton
Greg Bear
Vernor Vinge
Daniel Keyes Moran
Dan Simmons
Jack L. Chalker
Glen Cook (check out The Dragon Never Sleeps)

D'oh, I forgot Zelazny.

big book of amber pwns you.

I actually have it as two hardcover books. A library near my house was having a huge book sale, and I think I paid a quarter for each volume. These ones have these collector-card type of things with Vallejo art on the inside cover.
I've lost my copy of Jack of Shadows, though.
