Tillamook Special Reserve Extra Sharp White Cheddar, sliced in squares (1x1x0.25 inches), battered in a batter that is 1/2 normal beer batter, 1/2 comprised of finely ground pretzels (think coffee grinder fine).

It's just unbelieveably fantastic. Get a large cup (8oz) of ranch dressing "to go" from chilis, dip fried cheese in said ranch dressing, and go to town.

Yes, you can deep fry any sausage, cut in in slices first for better crispness. Or for a treat try boudin (but don't slice it first.)
Oh, and for some more deep-fry goodness, try deep fried spatzel.
We make a dish out of spatzel and potatoes quickly fried.
