Hey guys...

I've been using one of the original MS wireless optical mice for quite sometime and a plain jain keyboard....

I was wondering if there were any good wireless combo's out there that could help me "cut the cord" completely and still be good for gaming?

I prefer optical, and if at all possible a "natural shaped" keyboard.

I love the Logitech MX Duo, and so do many others. No lag, looks cool, rechargeable mouse batteries, keyboard is very nice too. I haven't had any issues with mine at all.

microsofts optical desktop series might fit the bill. there black too. If you worried about fit, go to your local pc store and ask to try one out. they shouldnt object

The link above features a black wireless keyboard and mouse does it not!?

Hell, if you don't like split keyboards

Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop -OEM

Anyhow... I prefer corded keyboards since A) I'm not too familiar with wireless keyboards and as far as I know, which isn't far, they use batteries, whether they're rechargable or not and haven't seen any kinda rechargable quick charge cable and/or cradling system like there is for mice. B) I don't have much of a need for a cordless keyboard. C) I don't like either wasting batteries or having to keep throwing them in the recharger. Plus rechargable batteries seem to degrade over time giving you less and less bettery life.

I still prefer corded mice as well because of the added weight in cordless mice. Mice have cradles today which eliminate the battery issues I mentioned above but their battery still degrades over time as well at some point.

Microsoft and Logitech are the only serious brands for this.

I am cheep and bought an ultra cheap Memorex combo. The keyboard works great. It runs on two AA batteries and does not recharge but it is not a problem as I have been using it for 5+ months and still no loaw batery warnings.

The mouse is complete crap though, although I believe it was the optical sensor not the lack of a wire.

You have an optical mouse and you know how it is. If you like it I suggest you just get a good keyboard and keep using your old mouse.
