Suggest me a mid-life-crisis ride

i find it hard to suggest a newer car that hasn't been tossed up yet. any aston martin would be nice.

however, i'm leaning towards something that speaks refinement and timelessness. something old, easily recognizable, but has an aire of uniqueness. in the end it would have to be a drivers car or something that would make you want to drive it.

my first choice would require lots of searching, luck, and money. it would probably go over your budget in the end. a MB 300SL Roadster would fit the bill. in poor condition it could probably be found for $100,000. however, pristine 300SLs are going for 600K+. if you bought the car in ugly shape you could put some time and more money into it to get a car that was something you could take pride in.

for a US car, '63 split window vette. this car would be more in your price range and would not be in poor condition. doesn't have as much refinement as the MB but easily makes up for it with a dose of Yankee brashness.

i'd have to think (dream) about other cars...

I would suggest something that's not YOU. something small with raw power, non luxurious. If you are in Italy, get a German or American. maybe get a Z4 or even better, a Viper if available in your country!

I would totally buy an Ariel Atom... there's a waiting list, but I think for 150K you could get one MUCH sooner ....

you would stand out more than any other car on the road, and people would think your penis is negative length because of how awesome that car is.

See it's been suggested a couple of times but Ford GT is what I thought of right away also. It turns more heads than pretty much anything else in that price range, mostly due to the rarity.

I'll state the obvious since I haven't seen anyone mention it. You already have a Maserati Quattroporte that you love. Why not get a Maserati Grantruismo to go with it?

Actually if he loves his Maserati already that would fit the budget and be something a bit more 'head turning'.

It's a beautiful car and very different from the rest out there.

The OP also has to determine if they want a classical design or a more polarizing one.

Some of the most 'beautiful' cars in the world are seen as the 'ugliest' too.
