I need a halfway decent pair of bookshelf speakers. Don't have to be anything incredible. Suggestions are appreciated.

Find some ATX cases in the trash. There are some speakers in the front that go <beep><beep>

😉

alternativley, check the hot deals forums for boomboxes, etc

I have a reciever already, got a pioneer sub from a friend. Budget is slim, but I will see how much I have to work with once there is something to take a look at.

Well, AVSforum if you just want to look around at different budgets and suggestions.

It would be a good idea to go out and listen to some different stuff to see what appeals to you.

Is that $150 range kind of what you were thinking of?

Decent could mean $100 to $1000 depending on who you talk to.

Still can't really tell what your budget is from the receiver and sub you mentioned 😉

Sony makes a fairly decent low price bookshelf speaker. For a pair with 5 1/4" woofers will run you $60 or so at Best Buy.
