Suggest a good Temp Monitoring program

Topic title says it all.... Having trouble with core temp, but not interested in their solution (disable driver signing permanently)....

Need suggestions for a good temp monitoring program for x64 Vista Ultimate....

I use HWMonitor from cpuid

Everest works well also, but you have to pay for it after a 30-day trial. It's much more extensive and has some neat features though, like putting info into the vista sidebar

Coretemp......search over on Xtremesystems.org for a patch that lets it work on 64-bit. It's a simple batch file you run one before you run coretemp, and it will stop Coretemp from crashing.

I cant seem to get coretemp to work on Vista... I us Everest ultimate editon and HWmonitor over oat the cpuz page...

Do you mean it is ran only once...then anytime no matter a restart of the pC or not you dont have to rerun it?

Run it every time you want to run coretemp. It's generally run as a batch file which includes the hack and a command to launch coretemp.

What annoys me is Vista asking me if I trust HWMonitor every time I launch it. Is there any way to add programs to an allowed list??

You could just turn UAC off... Go search in the help and support database for user account control.

As long as you have admin rights, you can run this line:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

I wonder if there's a single program that's accurate in software. SpeedFan 4.33 gives me pretty forgiving readings (never over 50C under load, averages are 22/48) and HWMonitor shows up to 62C under load (36/60). I'm inclined to believe the higher number. To that, I'd guess that HWMonitor is the better option, but how does one verify?
