Suggest a good alternative to Oakleys?

I do NOT want fakes of anything, I don't trust the quality. However, I would like a decent pair of sunglasses with polarized lenses that look alright. I know there are a ton of other brands out there, but WHERE is a good place to look online?

You're gonna lose/break/scratch your set of expensive glasses anyway. Suck it up and buy a set of 12 dollar knock off's from your local mall booth.

I've had my pair of Arnettes (polarized) for quite a while now, almost 3 years and they are still perfect in every way. Bought them for $150CAD which is $107USD.

I'd look on Sunglass Hut since they have a good policy (good warranty, rebates for stolen/broken shades). I always thought I'd never buy from them, but they don't rip people off like some people thinks - I couldn't find my shades cheaper elsewhere.

Opposite for me... cheap glasses just don't last as long, and i'm more likely to be careless with them. I don't know how many cheap glasses i've had broken because i left them in my pockets, sat on them, lost them, and who knows what else. But in the last 5 years, i've had only 2 pairs of shades. One was a designer paired i paid $200 for, and lasted me almost 3 years before i broke it. And my current pair of Oakley's Romeo's is 2 years old, and still looks like new.

Bwhahaha Sunglasshut? They DO rip people off. My g/f works there and they often have 50 percent off promotions for their (luxotica) employees to boost sales at lower preforming stores. It never fails to shock me how much these stores in particular marks up their prices.

I had a couple pairs of Ray-Bans, and I liked them. I have a pair of Bolle now, and I like them too. All polarized.

The most important thing to decide is if you want composite or glass lenses. Bolle tends to favor composite, Ray-ban glass. Glass is more scratch-resistant but also heavier. I feel like I have to be more careful with my composite Bolle's than I did with my glass Ray-bans.

BTW, the Raybans would've been fine except I lost the first pair and the second pair was stolen.

You take better care of more expensive glasses. You won't take care of a cheap fake as much as a real one.

You can give Rudy Project sunglasses a shot. I can't remember how much the polarized ones where the last time I was in a sunglass shop. Speaking of which, most ski shops and surfer shops carry a wide selection of sunglasses, including polarized ones so those are your best bet for finding a great pair. You really shouldn't be buying pricy sunglasses online without trying them on first anyway.

Just so you know, Oakley owns Occhiali da Sole, Sporting Eyes, Sunglass Designs and Oakley Icon. Ray Ban owns sunglass hut.

There's very few sunglasses as good as Oakleys. And none for less money.

Check out Campmor.com
They always have good deals on Bolle, Julbo, Vuarnet, Serengeti, etc. Not top end brands but good enough for me.
