Sugar in the cereal...

Does the sugar go in before the milk, or after. Think rice krispies specifically. It seems that if you put the sugar in before the milk, you get a better spread but it drops to the bottom. If you go after the milk, it sticks together and stays at the top.

Discuss.

Ummmm, when I was a little kid, it was milk first, then a very fine layer of sugar on top of the rice krispies. Then, once I ate the sweet layer, it was time to sprinkle a little more on. Once I reached 16, I quit adding sugar to cereal.

:Q

Not good man. There are certain cereals that REQUIRE sugar. RK being one of them.

I never knew you could put sugar on top of cereal. I've always added berries or something if the cereal was too bland.

Kinda this, but some cereals don't need sugar... :/ Only added sugar to things like Cheerios and only occasionally.

I don't add sugar or milk if I ever eat cereal now. Never added milk to begin with though...

I always add the sugar last.

The worst thing I ever saw was someone eating fruity pebbles with soda instead of milk. Said he saw it on some movie. Damn that had to be a sugar rush.

For rice krispies the sugar goes on after the milk so you get that sugary crunchy layer. Of course, since I went low carb I don't eat cereal anymore and sugar on bacon isn't the same at all.

You don't add sugar to cereal. The little bit it comes with is enough; eat foods like oatmeal or wheat along w/ cereal.

i always put a little Sugar in the Raw on my Wheaties. Absolutely delicious. Sugar in the Raw is also delicious, and this is required, not just regular sugar. There's a different flavor, and it goes so well with Wheaties.

I pour the milk, pour some sugar, stir up the cereal some, then pour a little additional sugar.

This helps as Sugar in the Raw tends to settle to the bottom real quick, it's a bigger crystal and doesn't stick to cereal very well.

Even after that, I still get a lot that settles at the bottom of the cereal bowl, but it helps sweeten the milk a little bit to work to the same result as the sugar sticking to the cereal.

Dude, Cheerios are really friggen sweet by themselves, you put sugar on them?

Eat something better than Rice Krispies and you won't need to add sugar. There are plenty of cereals out there that taste way better than RK and are both healthier and lower in calories.

you must be thinking of Honey Nut Cheerios.
I can't stand regular cheerios. so bland. I love honey nut cheerios though.

my favorite cereals tend to be the chocolate ones - cocoa pebbles and cocoa puffs. Delicious.

i tend to like the high calorie cereals.
And i eat two bowls worth, or back at my parents house it was a massive bowl that I used for cereal.

when your active, the calorie differences of cereal are meaningless.

Nope I mean regular Cheerios. I absolutely love Cheerios, they're my favourite cereal. I eat them plain, just 0% milk + Cheerios. They're so damn expensive around here though, about $7 a box.

Cereal doesn't need more sugar. We need a poll. I'd like to believe adding sugar to cereal is a rare event.
