I didn't get to watch the game, but I listened to a lot of it. Good grief, does anyone know how many dropped passes that was? Sounded like they killed drive after drive after drive.

Anybody hear about this new sign and drive program that dealers are offering?

Oh, was this thread about a football game?

Next morning thoughts...

1) Pretty much a classic that would have been even more of a classic had the Arkansas special teams unit just scooped up the blocked punt and run it in. I don't understand why the guy just fell on the ball. It's 4th down dude! The closest person to you is some punter who runs a 6 in the 40!

2) Arkansas receivers suck / OSU receivers are awesome

3) Someone needs to look at making the rule for forward progress more obvious. From now on teams should just push a guy back into the end zone and then let go in hopes of luring him into running forward again.

4) What happens when one of the 'Tressel Pledge' kids decides to bolt to the NFL?

1. They were taught to drop on the ball and secure it. If the defense did that in the first quarter (Pryor's fumble --> TD), they would won the game.

2. See my previous posts above yours. Petrino needs to post all the newspaper headlines about OSU victory onto "the not sure hand" receivers' lockers and especially the pictures of several spectacular catches from OSU receivers with a note "that's how a receiver should be".

3. That was a bad call, not sure what the officials saw and called it a safety.

4. They want to be back so they can sell more jerseys/goodies/stuffs to boosters for more money? 😎

SI has a heading calling it an Immoral Victory LOL!!! Ohio St should joined the SEC, they'd fit right in.

1-9 record vs. the SEC in bowl games = fits right in with Vandy and Kentucky is more like it.

I saw a similar play in another game this year, I forget exactly when/where. But I think the idea is, if the ballcarrier breaks out of the first tackle and is able to run some again, then he loses the forward progress. He might even have to run forwards a little bit, I'm not sure. Doesn't really seem right, the best play for the ballcarrier might be to just quit trying and fall down? Anyway, I agree that play shouldn't have been a safety, it's either a bad rule or a bad call or both.

It's amazing OSU held on after so many huge mistakes.

Fumble by Pryor on 2 yard line.
Fumble by Herron on pivotal 4th and 1.
Safety!
Blocked punt!

Arkansas gave OSU that game.

How many dropped passes with Arkansas have?
It seemed like each one was for a huge 3rd down conversion or a touchdown.

More like OSU should switch conferences with Vandy or Kentucky.

That safety was an interesting call. It looked like he chose to try and run forward a little bit. That definitely backfired (pun intended).

the last 2 losses were national title game losses, something neither vandy or uk can even dream of.....

the two before that were back to back losses in 01 and 02 in the Outback Bowl to South Carolina.

One was decided by a FG

the rest are from a stretch from the 70's to the mid 90's which arent exactly remotely applicable today. Hell the 01 02 ones barely mean much

One of the ESPN headlines was "Suspended players key in win" or something like that.

If Pryor or any of the other players who were suspended go to the NFL the NCAA and Tressel will look like absolute fools. I kinda hope that happens.
