Sufficient cooling?

If I wanted a Dual 6800 GT or Ultra configuration and an A64 CPU, could a desktop case (such as the Silverstone SST-LC03S-V) handle the heat? If not, would one 6800 Ultra and an A64 survive?

Has anyone tried this?

I'm talking about stock cooling solutions here, no fancy mod jobs.

Thanks everyone!!
Jared

Yes, provided you have a good-venting PSU, and Arctic Silencers to duct the vid cards' heat directly out of the case.

It would be LOUD though.

It will work, yes... Though you will probably need to substitute the two 60mm fans in the back with high-speed Deltas (or externally mount 80mm high-speed fans with fan adapters). A well-vented PSU is mandatory of course.

Check out what this gentleman did with his LC03V: HERE.

HTH.

Wow, that's awesome.

Does anyone know of any HTPC cases that would be able to handle an SLI setup without modding?

That's not a mod. The guy simply screwed the adapters onto the existing 60mm fan mounts on the back of the LC03. Easy to do, and very effective I might add. Not visible at all if you keep your LC03 on an A/V rack.

And that's good advice from Ribbon on the PSUs.

He drilled a second fan hole. So it is a MOD, I think. The adapter thing is doable though, for one fan that is.

Hehe, you probably are! That's pretty sweet. I also like the cooling solution on the Silverstone LC13, but it doesn't have the VFD, which I like on the LC03V.
