Rumours are Paul Hollywood is up to replace Chris "ginger" Evans at Top Gear. Love Productions who own GBBO said before the Channel 4 announcement that it wasn't about money, so going from £7.5m to £25m a series is just a coincidence... BBC offered £15m btw.

ps: It's Mel & Sue.
pss: I am not a fan of the show, just not my type of telly.

Considering he's a car fanatic, Hollywood - whom pledged his allegiance to the channel - could well be eyeing the opportunity in a bid to revive the lacklustre reception received by the revamped version of the flagship motor series upon its return earlier this year.

ah. i'll watch at least one new top gear if they sign on Mary Berry too

Oh that is horrible news. We love to watch that show. So different than all of the cut throat shows we have on.

For the record, BBC Worldwide (non UK viewers) retains international distribution rights up to 2028.

My wife and I really enjoy the show and I am sad to see the two of them leave. But, with the change of venue will come changes in the production process and who knows if the show will or would have retained its appeal.

The show changed networks, but the four are still there. Oh, and I like that darn show. Had people over and they were laughing at me for watching it... then they got all involved.

I wish all reality shows would follow that template they have. Humble and decent people, challenging, but not humiliating tasks, and genuine respect all around. The closest we have in my estimation is American Ninja Warrior, but even that gets over-produced.
