I never had a problem before with my Pioneer 106s slot loading DVD playing drive but suddenly I can't watch movies. I tried playing a music CD and it seems OK for that. Can't rip with Smartripper 2.41 either. I was watching a movie and it errored. If I move the drive to my other machine it seems to have no problems (Rigzilla in my sig. Baby Rigzilla is the machine where the drive normally lives). The message is that the disc may be dirty or scratched:

If you hit "Detailed" it says: Please clean the surface of the disc if possible. If it has been scratched, it might not be readable.
I get errors with all DVDs when played in this machine. Some won't play at all, some play and either forward into the movie or I get the dirty disk message. Generally I get this error when I first insert the disc:
Program Error
Autoplay.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.
OK

I generally use Power DVD 3.0. I tried playing a known good DVD movie with NVDVD that came with my video card. It at least plays, but every few seconds the scenes just skip forward to the middle of another scene!!! I uninstalled PowerDVD and reinstalled, same problem. Any ideas? Thanks!
