Sudden spam in our gmail accounts

Anyone else suddenly getting four or five spam emails per day in your gmail account? I know that mine and someone else that I know have suddenly started getting at least that many everyday, where before we had maybe one or two a week. It doesn't look to be coming from the same place, but that doesn't really mean much.

Anyone else using gmail notice a sudden increase?
 
yes, i did notice a big jump in spam a few days ago. I think someone discovered the secret to get past the g-filter.

That's kinda what I was thinking, but I wanted to ask around and see if it was just me, my wife, and my friend, or if their filter is just not catching some new stuff.

We rarely got any at all until a few days ago. Some of this new stuff doesn't even hit the "spam" folder. Just right to the inbox.
 
Started like 2 weeks ago for me. As you can see from my username, it was only a matter of time before they brute forced my email address.
 
started a week for me. i never get any spam, but since then, i've had about 3 emails. none today so far...

That would be fine with me, but more and more are getting into my inbox, which is an inconvenience that I am not prepared to deal with, what with my free email service and all (I know they advertize, but who clicks those?)

Yeah, I know, I just started getting spam in one of my accounts... but not in the others. Yet.

I always hit "report as spam" and for the most part it gets sent to my spam-box, but I'd prefer it if it just didn't reach me.
 
Yes, I just started getting a lot this week. Only 2 people have the account info, and suddenly I am getting all of these letters from "Brian" and "Jason" and "Jessica" etc telling me about their day and sending me a link to some stupid website. It's pretty annoying.
 
Same here. I get probably about 10 a day. At the end of the week, I just mark em as read (since the # besides the Spam thing bothers me 😉).

Hardly any ever get in my inbox, if it does happen, it's a rare occerence.

I've noticed some spam in my account lately. I usually use the pop access, but if I login on the GMail site I will have a few spam messages. At least GMail is a lot better than my ISPs mail where I get a ton of spam everyday, and the address has never been given out.
