Sudden Increase in CPU Temp?

Okay just now, I realized that my computer is running hotter than usual. I can tell by just feeling the exhaust air on my case. When I go into the BIOs to check the CPU Temp it's idling 8-9 degrees Celsius higher than the usual. 28C-29C up from 19C-20C. I currently have a ZALMAN CNPS9500LED with Arctic Silver on the CPU and I can't figure out why there is a sudden increase. I have all my fans running at 100%. I haven't changed any setting since I've built it about a month ago. Can anybody tell me why my temps just jumped up? Help me!

*edit*

I just checked the heatsink and it does have some dust, but very little. I noticed that the little fan that comes with the 680i to cool the chipset was pretty dusty. I just I'll need to buy some more compressed air, but after getting rid of as much dust as I could my idle temps dropped to around 26C. My room has stayed fairly the same temp I think. half a month of dust really make that big a difference? Btw, my case is a Lian-Li PC-V1000 PlusII. I think the problem is just dust and ambient room temp, I hope. What is a reasonable temp for the cpu not oc'ed? I'm running an E6600.

Your temps sound wonderful to me. My CPU runs about 28C - 32C normally and runs at 38C with a 25% overclock.

Yeah - very cold. My CPUs have always been betwwen 38 and 52 C. I wouln't worry a bit until it gets more than 70C.

The room temp also has a bearing on the problem.

i live in phx az, my computer room gets to 87F some times when the rest of the condo is @ 78F. i blow my machines out every 2-3mos normally - i am not running a c2d, but i have never seen a a 8-9C change in temps from blowing them out from any machine or hsf combo i have run, maybe 4-5C at the very most in my xp2000 machine if i haven't blown it for some time (like when i had back surgery, it didn't get blown out for ~6mos) and it is on 24/7 so it would have the most dust, and i think it usually stays ~51C, but again, a diferent processor.

from what i have read i believe the goal is to keep the c2ds under 60C when o/cing, so you are very far under that, so i wouldn't worry about it unless it jumps up again for some unknown reason.

i would look at a weather site to see what the temps have been for the last month - if temps change slowly you won't notice it but a temp gauge will and it may surprise you if you haven't looked at it in a month

Id sacrifice a live chicken for those numbers. Guess its just too hot here.

I'll take your chicken, preferably non-live, but Chick-fil-A.
OP's room is way too cold! 19C? OMG

yes my room is cold, I sleep with three blankets on. My room is also has dark walls which may also help a little and in the day time the room stays fairly dark. I would say my room is no hotter than 65F at most.

LOL@OP thinking his processor was actually running at 19C

Mine idles around 23ºC

It was down to 21ºC once, when I opened the windows in the winter 😀

But my ambient temps are around 15ºC
