You already know the answer to this question. It will work, for as long as the parts in your box stay together. The first time something comes a little bit loose or touches something it shouldn't...ZAP.
Depends on how loud you crank it. Feel your tower when it's cranked up and if you feel vibration then perhaps put some sound absorbing media between the sub and the tower.
Maybe thick rubber bumpers on the desk's legs? The tower is on some sort of coffee table looking desk seperate from mine... and the sub is going to be under that space. I had a sub under it before but it was an Altec Lansing ACS48 and i figured it wasn't as big as the Klipsch so it probably didn't vibrate that much... and no parts got loose either. i think i'll go do that. but would my HD puke on itself if it's cranked up all the time?
I would make room, shouldn`t be too hard to do if you can move stuff around,I wouldn`t recommend putting it under your tower, vibration in the long run is bad for PCs period.I would even buy a different desk if I had too.
Well I have space somewhere else but it's about 10-12 feet away... the stereo plugs that goes to my soundcard shouldn't be a problem but the cable that connects to the control tower will be... how long is that thing anyway? 😱
I had my sub about 1m from my tower back when I was a bit more space constrained, and that sub was quite a largo mofo with 4 12" elements, and it did fine.
Of course I had little "feet" on my sub.
The only way vibrations are going to be problem is if your tower is physically in contact with your sub, which it doesn?t sound like it's going to be from your description. I would be more concerned with magnetic interference of the sub then anything else, 12" is prolly safe but more distance would be nice.
