Subwoofer Question

I have an old RT2250 subwoofer (RCA), and I now have a Sony Receiver that is supposed to use one of those powered subwoofers with the one cable connection. Is there anyway I can use the RCA sub I for the newer receiver? I don't feel like paying $100 for something that might work. Thanks for any help.

Do you still have the receiver for the RCA system anymore? If you do, you could hook up the subwoofer pre-out from the Sony receiver to an analog input on the RCA receiver and hook up the subwoofer to the powered subwoofer output on the RCA receiver.

I'm not sure what it was. It was at ABC Warehouse. It was a standalone subwoofer. I don't really care what kind it is. I just want cheap and working. I hate having surround sound and no bass, it's terrible, haha.

Or you can look here Harman-Audio Ebay Store and pick up a quality Infinity or JBL sub refurb with a 5 year warranty. Because the economy is in the crappier, they have had some amazing deals there lately. And not all the stuff sold there as refurbs are refurbs. Some stuff is listed as refurbs but is simply overstock. But you have no way of knowing what's what until you get it. And you still get the full factory warranty either way. I bought nearly 10k of stuff there over the years and haven't been unhappy a single time.
