Subwoofer not working under linux

eP?

Hey-

Does anyone know why my sub wouldn't work under RH 7.2? Everything else works fine. Front, rear, left and right channels all
work fine... I just have no subwoofer or very little subwoofer output. My sound card is a SB Live Plat. and I have the Klipsch 4 speaker setup.
The sound card is totally recognized by the OS. I have checked all the volume controls I can find and have seen none that pertain to just the subwoofer
volume. I would love to get my sub working in Linux.

Is the sub on it's own channel or not? The reason I ask is that if it's not and your sub isn't working then I highly doubt that Linux would have anything to do with it (speakers are pretty driverless OS independent things). The ONLY thing I could thing of (longshot) is that somehow Linux isn't sending lower frequencies to the speakers (which is what a sub picks up on).

Thanks for the ideas. I actually hooked up my RIO volt and everything worked fine. I'm out of ideas at the moment. I guess I'll try to mess around with it a little more and see what happens. On another note, if anyone appreciates Linux and its capabilities, I have installed and am running windows XP via VMware and it is sweet. Why would I want to run Windows? Office, messenger service which everyone I know uses, and a couple other things. Still have the Dual boot though incase I need to run some games.
