BIC F12 takes it for me, especially for the price. You can get 2 F12's for the price of one Sub12 (going by Amazon prices at least) and you would def. get better bass performance out of 2 F12's than one Sub12. Even with just one, I think I would go for the F12. That's just going from stuff I've read online though.

i was going to get the f12 once they came back in stock, but the egg also had the sub12 listed for about the same price but hadn't heard any discussion about them.

Klipsch has more real (continuous) power -- 300W vs 150W -- but of course that's only 3db worth of difference that can be made up elsewhere (drivers etc.). I do know that the Egg is now sold out of the Klipsch... ;)

3db is a big difference. With typical recordings with a dynamic range of 17dB, even a little more headroom could be the difference between clipping and not clipping the amp.

Eh, people get too worked up over power ratings. With a subwoofer somethign like 80% of sound is made in the first 20% of the driver travel. All that extra power does is give you a little more excursion which depending on tuning could give you more output and/or extension. Or it could just give you a higher chance to bottom your driver out :)

I'd really like to see people do a blind test between a 150w and a 300w amp on a typical entry level 12" sub and see if they can tell a difference under their typical listening volumes.
