Subway's fresh baked bread is awesome.

I sorta agree, Most mom and pop shops I've been to offer 1 type of bread. The ones that offer more, it's always something simple like Rye or whole wheat or something. I want Jalapeno Cheddar bread, not going to find that at a hole in the wall shop. I'm almost positive if Penn & Teller did another fast food Bullshit episode but this time used Subway bread on mom and pop sandwiches and mom and pop bread on Subway and got peoples feedback it would be all fucked up. Their fast food episode was fucking awesome, to see people eating Taco Bell that they thought was from a nice sit down place

"OMG THIS IS SO GOOD tastes just like home cooking This taco salad is delicious!"

To me Subway bread isn't great or terrible, I've eaten sandwiches at about 200 different places and only maybe 3 or 4 had memorable bread. *shrug*

Yup people are easily tricked by presentation.

I agree that most of the Subway hate is too much, but this thread feels like an ad for Subway. A couple Firehouse Subs opened near me. They are good if you want a meat-centric sub and are willing to pay for it.

A Second for jersey mikes Chipotle Cheese Steak. So freaking good.

I am also a fan of a local(local to only 3 states at least) chain around me called Cousins Subs. Good bread and ingredients. I only go to subway as a last resort. To me the meat feels like its the most processed and looks like it was all put into a blender and then compacted into meat product. I can eat it but would rather eat at other places first.

Cousins is excellent! Sadly they have closed a few of the local shops here, and I now have to drive 30+ minutes to the closest one. 🙁
