So I'm home from College, hunting for my first job, and my mom just happens to have the day off today. She had to go somewhere this morning, and was going to stop and get us something for lunch at Subway. I just got off the phone with her, and apparently the Subway by our house has no bread with which to make sandwiches. WTF? I just thought that was funny.

I've worked at a pizza joint and ran out of cheese, sauce, and dough before (although not all on the same night).

yeah I guess so. I've just never heard of it happening. Not at Subway, at any rate. The Taco Bells around here used to run out all the time because of hockey-related promos they used to run.

"I like the meat and cheese, but what's with the bun?"
"What are you talking about?! If there wasn't a bun you'd have meat and cheese all over your hands!"
*focus group looks around like there's no problem with that*
"Okay, we'll look into it."

I've been to a donut shop that ran out of donuts in the middle of the day

some poor high-schooler was working the store and she was waiting around for the 1 last donut to sell so she could go home. I guess it didn't occur to her to just buy the donut herself and take the rest of the day off.

I ran into a Dairy Queen that had no food at all for a whole week. All the employees would still come in. They would still man the drive through. When you pull up to the mic they still ask if they can help you. After you give your order you are then informed that they have no food, and to try again later. Same thing the next day. And the next. It defies explanation.

They are hourly wage earners. It makes perfect sense if you think about it. It's corporate that's stupid for not sending more food/ingredients to sell.

Wow, are you serious?

I went to SUBWAY yesterday and they didn't have any wheat bread. All they had was that crappy Honey Oat.
