Submitting transcript with job application

Hi guys,

I'm applying for a research position at a small think-tank and part of their application asks me to send them a copy of my transcript. Now, they clearly want their applications sent via email, not snail mail and it takes my university usually about a week to get a transcript together. Do I have to send them a scanned copy of an official transcript or can I simply convert my unofficial online transcript into something readable and send it along?

Is there some sort of SOP here?

Thanks!

IIRC most of mine wanted the official transcript from the Univ. I guess you could give them a copy and tell them the official was on its way.

Damn okay, I just tried calling them to ask, but their phone system seems to be screwy.

edit: aha! "Program Fellow and Program Manager applications should include writing samples and academic transcripts (which can be unofficial)." I'll just tidy up my unofficial transcript and send it along.

A few companies that have asked for my transcript have been fine with the pdf I made from just printing it out on my uni's website.

I do HR for the Fed Gov and we just want a copy for the application. Now if you get a job offer you might need a offical one if you are using education to cover the requirments for the job. So don't send in a fake one, it turns out bad at the fed level when you do that. 😉

If it is an electronic application, then it doesn't matter. I have three transcripts I need to send with applications. The most recent is a pdf I got from my University's blackboard site. The other two are scanned images of official transcripts. The thing is, both official transcripts have some sort of invisible ink saying "Unofficial Transcript" that shows up when they are copied or scanned.

You'll more than likely just be required to submit sealed official transcripts if you actually get the job.
