Subaru with snow tracks instead of wheels

That is by far, one of the coolest things I've ever seen. How would they even do that? Do they have to custom design those attatchments?

I called them a few months ago to see about a set for my FJ. Quoted 22K for the 105's.

I guess they mean people think tracked is better than a tyre on ice? I don't drive so I would not know.

Wider footprint equals less PSI on the ice...turns them into skis on ice..just like wide tires. I suppose there might be some kind of "Ice treads" available for use on ice however, or perhaps some kind of mod that could be added, but that would probably also make them unserviceable on hard dry surfaces, where the standard tracks would be OK on pavement for short runs.
