WRX's are fun rides. Especially for the money. I've only driven the sedan version but don't imagine the wagon is that much different.
Personal choice. I need the extra space of the Outback but like the WRX for sure.

There's a guy in Austin selling an '04 Impreza WRX Wagon with 86k mi for $9200. 5-speed manual, black. Very sweet looking vehicle, but i'm not looking to buy for another month and a half. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll stay up there...

I can't speak to towing but have a 2009 forester and it's a great small suv. I plan on getting a new outback once we're ready to replace my wife's car.

There's actually some decent Subaru forums out there that you could probably find a bit better info on your question.

They stopped making the Baja, but I assume you're looking at a used.

You should do fine on the sale of the STI, lots of people would love to get their hands on a SE package.

Thats how you should do it, ride them hard and put them up wet.

How is the shelby?

Have any goodies you want to sell off the STI, Like cobb access port?

I think I've settled on a Impreza WRX Wagon. I like the sporty yet practical look, the engine is pretty powerful with the Turbo, it can tow 2k which is what I need for random use, the insides look to be pretty nice, and the MPG still isn't horrible.

I found one that I really like (http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/ctd/2319376914.html) but I'm not ready to buy it right now. Hopefully in a month or so there's something similar out there.

13k for an 03..? 😱 Miles are pretty low, but my 04 FXT with 103k was $7390..body wasn't perfect, but the interior was damn nice.

WRX wagons are sharp cars, though. I like 'em.

My wife and i are in the same boat. I own at 2009 Forrester and thinking of replacing the wifes care with a Outback when we are ready.

Yea, true, the price is a bit high, but I'm looking to trade in my '01 civic which will give me 3k for a down payment. I was more using that as an example.

I saw an impreza wagon yesterday and I agree. It's still a wagon, but it's a bitchin wagon.

EDIT: Here's another example: http://www.importeuro.com/vehicles/2002-subaru-impreza-wagon--7

Or this: http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/2342573758.html

I like the black one a lot...
