Sub-$250 tablet that doesn't suck?

I'm ok with ordering something from China or ebay and just want something for couch websurfing - anything out there that doesn't suck? I'd say 7" is a minimum because I don't have the need for say a streak... Also, capacitive would be nice but a responsive resistive would work out ok. Suggestions?

Er... give it 2 or 3 years for $300 & $400 first gen android tablets to get replaced with 2nd gen tablets. Then snag a 1st gen on sale...

android tablets not worth it until google and the manufacturers figure stuff out and get the market on there.

wait for the archos 70 or 101 to be released october or so. their list prices are 275 and 299. http://www.archos.com/?country=us&lang=en

but I'm pretty sure amazon will sell it cheaper than that.

No official market access but there is applibs. I haven't really looked into that. they do not look to be blocking side loading so you still have that option.

But yeah Google needs to get their shit together on it on tablet requirements and what not.

thanks guys. Some of these chinese branded tablets seem to be able to get the market place via hacks/roms, but I'll just wait a bit to see what happens.

and have bad battery life, and overheat, and feel cheap, and have resistive touch screens....
