i think that there are basically three styles of posters, but if you got your own, thats ok too...

1) hit refresh every couple minutes too see what new threads get bumped up, read them, and post in them if necessary... this method is usually used when you are doing other things such as listening to music, or watching tv...

2) you go down through EVERY single thread, and read EVERY single post... dont reply to all that many, but are curious too see what everyone is talking about...

3) last but not least, you skim through about the first 10 pages of threads searching for topics that might interest you, and only respond to those ones...

i, myself am number 1, and hit refresh every couple minutes or so...

I refresh several times a minute, or switch constantly between forums...

OT, FI, GH, CPU/OC, etc.

I wrote a script that automatically refreshes the forums every 15 seconds, auto-highlights the link for any threads that have new posts and sets off a flashing red light when it detects any active liberals.

#1 - If I didn't have broadband DSL I might consider being a #3.

Out of the first 100 topics listed, I've only read 17 of them. That's about the norm. I refuse to click a topic titled "What if...", "Why is it...." or "wtf is this". The thing I love about a BBS as opposed to a chat room, is that you can come and go at your leisure. The topics of interest may scroll away, but I can bring em back quick as a wink. It's a good thing ;)

This particular board moves at just the right pace. Not too busy and not too slow. Not particularly happy with the nef topic stuff, but I'll live...

Edit: LOL, Russ. Gonna need a copy of that script! :p

Ornery, you mean you don't want to be a nef? ;)

I'm a number 1. I never leave the first page (which consists of 50 threads for me).
