stupidity of a radio shack salesman

MrDudeMan

i went into radio shack today, and i was looking to buy some rechargeable batteries. well, i was going to ask what the best deal was on them, but the guy jumped right up and start blabbing about the batteries.

at first i thought he knew what he was talking about. i asked if he had a charger that could charge all 3 types of rechargeables, and he said no. i pointed to the 3 in 1 rayovac charger and he said "oh, i forgot about that one, we just got it in"

so i was like ok...maybe he forgot

then i asked which type would last longer in my digital camera, and he said alkalines! he was like "they dont lose their charge as fast and they can be recharged more times"

then i looked around at the prices, and there was a special on some alkalines, i dont remember what it was, but it was stupid nonetheless.

i was not sure if NiCD or NiMH were better, but he sure as hell didnt know, and then he tried to sell me on something he was wrong about. awesome.

No, no. Throw the NiCDs at him. Buy the NiMHs. 1700mAH or better, if you're powering a digital camera or anything else high-drain. A lot of places sell crappy 1200mAH rechargables, and they don't power squat. My old camera wouldn't even power up with them installed. CD player loved em, but then a CD player needs a lot less raw juice than a 1.3MP camera.

i hate some radio shack people...one time i was in buying 4 AA batteries and they were like, "are you sure you dont want to also buy this computer we have on sale?"

i was like "HOLY COW, I forgot, that was the other thing on my list...batteries and a computer..."

oh and i was like 17 at the time...how many 17 year olds come in and just whip out enough money for a $3000 computer (or however much computers went for 7 years ago

You should have pulled all the crappy sprint cell phones off the shelf and thrown them at him.

Don't those usally have a anti theft cord on them so if you threw one it would just come right back at you?

hahahaha

Not quite as stupid as the one I overheard:

Teenage male and his mother come in, they are interested in buying a computer (never buy a computer from radio shack, lol) they have a couple of questions, among which are 2 that get very interesting replies (1) can it be upgraded??? Sure, and Compaq will even pay for the labor and parts (Oh, really) (2) Can it get on the internet??? Sure. Who do you recommend??? AOL but you need another company for the connection, then you get AOL to go over the top of it.

Needless to say, even back then I knew a bit more than that.

They're are few professions people are born into, like English Teachers, and Radio Shack employees fit right in.

Ugghhhh I wish Radioshack had automated checkout so I wouldn't have to deal with those fricking morons at ALL.
Even if I head straight for the item I need and slap it on the counter, I still get harassed with stupid questions and statements. Like when I bought an emergency USB cable for $16

:Q the guy is like "You have USB?!" "Uhh, yeah." "You need this?!" "JUST SELL THIS TO ME YOU STUPID #*(@$^!!!"

lol. i remember buying all my computer parts at this mom-and-pop when i was about 17. they spent like 15 minutes verifying the check with the bank and verifying my ID and stuff. even then, they were giving me suspicious looks.

I went in there back in May..I forgot my portable radio..so I wanted to buy a good am/fm port.radio. Not a single fuggen radio in the place. Radio Shlack has no radio's I said?? Well goofus behind the counter didn't know either till I asked to see a radio..what a joint.
