w00t i just got the pins re aligned and it goes in smoothly now. I saw this on the tutorials but i can't find it any more. What should i use to get the (thermal pad thing) thermal pad stuff off.
(between the heat sink and the CPU)

Remember to clean the bottom of the HS were to pad was attached with alcohol, or carburetor cleaner.

Link to AS5

I cleaned the bottom of my HS with some xylene based stuff, and was amazed on how much junk was still on the HS.

Use a credit card or the like. Just remember to be gentle, and try not to get your skin oil on the sink or processor.
Also, if you've never applied thermal paste before, then this is worth saying: The directions tell you to use a very small amount, and to apply it a certain way. It seems like too little, I know, but it's not. Follow the directions. Too much paste is a bad thing.
