Just finished paving the driveway and parked the car on the road next to our house. Car was ticketed over night for 'illegal parking'...

I got one yesterday on the Fiero. Parked on a public street, in front of my apartments. Ticket reads: "PARKED - PRIVATE/PUBLIC PROPERTY FOR SALE SIGN"

The car had been there overnight. I drive it, so that's the longest it sets in one place.

Needless to say, the City of Anaheim is gonna hear the wrath of the shark! That's a load of crap.

dont let them get away with that garbage

Had to sit there for 30min while the cop with the vehicle height meter got there. It's a thing on a long stick that verifies the car/truck is over whatever the limit is (6" I think?)

The truck isn't that low, so no prob with the meter. Then the cops, pissed that I passed that test, started testing lights, door latches, seat belts, etc. No problems. Dorks had to let me go.

I got home and laughed for hours. I had two obvious issues they missed! I had expired tags (the new stickers were in the glovebox and I just hadn't put them on yet), and tinted front windows. Bwahahahahahahaha.

NOTE: I don't think all cops are a-holes. Most of 'em are pretty cool. But it always seems to be the a-holes who pull you over for bs reasons or hassle you. Guess that's what makes 'em a-holes. heh

Irvine cops suck. They have nothing better to do because they think no one is doing anything in their city.. I was followed for 5 blocks the other day going to Target.. Blah them..

Same here - they obviously use racial profiling here, in the rural midwest . . . cops follow me around for no good reason whatsoever (and I'm a clean-cut kid, to boot! :|)

He was working on restoring the car for several years and moved it into his drive way because it had gotten warm ouside. I can not believe that a city can have an ordinance that allows tickets for expired tags when the vehicle is on you own property and obviously not being driven.:|:|

Teh Winnar!

That really sucks.

Are you really a NY state police, or that's just something you're carrying around?

As for my story, well it actually happened to my father. He went to the hospital with a friend. They parked their two motorcycles in one parking spot. When they came back, they had a ticket so he went in the office to get an explanation. They told him because he was "double-parked", or whatever that's called in english. Then he told them he wasn't because the two bikes were only taking one parking place. They said that wasn't how it works, so he asked them to proove it. They looked through their rules book for like 15 minutes but couldn't find anything. He told them he wasn't going to pay for this unless they could proove him wrong. He left his pager number, cell phone number, fax number and home number... so he said he wasn't leaving as a thief. Anyway they never called him back, probably because they never found that in the book. All that for a ... huge $1.75 fine. HAHAHAHA.

My father is just like that sometimes.. he said even if it would have been 10 cents, he would have done the same thing - it's the principle that matters.

at least in Maryland they would call u asking for donations and u got those "i support the fraternal order of police"

i still have mine on from 2001 but LA parking people dont care about it

Positive Parking ticket story-

i have a NY Mets plate holder on my back plates and it covers up the top half of the word MARYLAND with the word NEW YORK (as in NEW YORK METS)...well the genious parking person wrote NY plates...that was like a $60 ticket i didnt have to pay...

it happened again when my g/f borrowed the car and they wrote NY again...but then noticed crossed it out and wrote MD

Yeah he is. I know he was in his right. But only.. I would have donated 5$ to the childrens at the hospital or something instead of loosing 20 minutes arguing with those ppl
