Stupid walmart wont' give me WoW

I work at a Lan gaming center. About 10-15 people here are all interested in playing this game the night its out, and being some of the first ones on the server. Getting the good names, etc.

Wal-mart has the game at their store now. A friend of mine recently got a job there and told me he saw it. His boss, the head of the electronics department, is refusing to stock the game until 10 AM the next morning. The game releases officially at midnight, blizzard is even having a party at midnight to celebrate the release... why, if Walmart can gain a ton of business by being the first to have a product, would they want to blow us off and not stock it?

I called the corperate office to file a compalint and they are having the head of the district office call me.. or so they said.. (no call as of yet, been 45 mins..)

Stupid Walmart! if it releases at the same time at EB in the mall opens, I'm getting it from EB instead.. but with like 10 people coming in today to ask to get it in stock, you would think they would be willing to put it out right at midnight!
 
Did I mention I work at a LAN gaming center? I have a valid reason for being nocturnal.. I work like 11PM to 8 AM....

No, he usually orders food to the house like buffalo wings. Or, he goes without food for hours and hours at a time. (He does play too much WoW, though.)

I don't think that technically qualifies as a ton of business. At least in the Walmart world.
 
i say just go in at 10pm even and see if they have it stocked. i know all the 24 hour walmarts around me are usually dead by about 9/10pm and the guys there are looking for anything to pass time on rather than what they are usually having to do (stock)...
 
Just get your "friend" to grab one for you at 12:01 (are they open 24 hours?). Technicaly he isn't doing anythign wrong since it's a valid item. And technically it's illegal per most stores policies to hide products that are in stock when they are supposed to be for the mass public once they hit their release date. You could make a stink that he was hiding them for his own friends to come and get and tell corporate that you were told that from someone who works there.
 
then go get the game someplace else that will sell it

Yeah they do. :roll: I work at a 24 hour wal-mart, so let me clarify a few things. New release movies and big time release games are there about 3-5 days before release, sometimes sooner depending on how big the title is. around this time of year, they are more than happy to get whatever they can out of the backroom, because with the massive amount of merchandise in that store, any space they can get is much appreciated.


besides, the department manager of electronics is not there at 12 midnight. Whoever is working overnight in electronics will be the one with all the releases. Just go in, ask for a copy, and im sure someone will get it for you.
 
i think wal-mart probably knows what's better for them then you do. In other words, they don't give a fvck
