God damn the stupid RIAA. Their whole business model has made it completely impossible for me to find decent music unless I look long and hard and spend a TON of time searching for it.

It always used to be that you listen to the radio, hear a new song you like, remember the band name, go out and buy the album.

Now, thanks to their "shove sh!t down your throat" business model, where each CD has 1 good song and the rest fillers, it is completely impossible to have decent new music playing for more than a 5-minute clip. So, I am seriously hurting for new music.

I really like hard rock and trance/techno with vocals only (none of that repetitive crap). I am also getting into reggae. However, finding good stuff is hard. I am sick of sorting through 95% crap. Is there a new way to be able to find music I like? I can't even find decent music if I download mp3s or kazaa..

It's really funny, but before I even decided to hate the RIAA, I bought the most CDs the same year I downloaded the most mp3s.

Seriously, I need a better way to find good songs to listen to. I listen to most of my music in the car and while I do homework. My mp3/CD collection is huge... but I am tired of all of it. I haven't spent much time finding new music for the past 2 years.

/whisper Local Music!

Go support your local bands! Hard Rock is everywhere, the techno would probably be hard to find outside of a club, but reggae should be easy.

For all sorts of Trance/Techno/EuroDance or whatever, use

DI Radio

Free. Use the ShoutCast Stream, and it tells you every song they play. You hear something you like, research it a little. Then, if you want, buy the music/cd. (You can also just go on their site, and see what has been played recently, so you can find a channel with your tastes.)

This website is GREAT for finding new music that you wouldn't otherwise get exposed to.
