I feel like a Dope asking this, but-
Does anyone know if the iWill SIDE Raid100 card will happily Co-Exist w/my Onboard IDE??
It's gonna go into an Intel815E board, as soon as my 8KHA+ and 1.4Gig T-Bird Arrive.
I'm well aware of how to set it all up, and yes I'm sure I can get a free IRQ dedicated for it, although my Current i815E setup it's very hard to get a free IRQ Above #7. Will this be OK?? My Current Adaptec 2940UW Works flawless on IRQ3, even though Adaptec Highly reccomends you never use anything lower than IRQ9. The RAID Card is gonna replace it.
reason I ask is, I'll be using the Onboard IDE for my boot drive + another 40 Gig (Just for Storage & Backups), and DVD/Burner.
If not how's about in an Asus P3BF??
There will be lots o' stuff in this already cramped situation!! It's been my Computer for 9 months now, but it gettting an overhaul to be strictly a Music Computer,w/the whole deal (dual LCD monitors&all) in a rack.
Here's what's gonna go into it-
Abit SE6 (i815E) P3-700@933, 512 Megs of Mosel Vitalic, hopefully a Radeon VE.
The iWill SIDE Raid100 card.
Delta66/Studio Audio Card. IntelPro100 Nic (need network for file transfers!).
the Crappy Onboard AC97 Sound - Technically I won't even need a soundcard, except for system related events.
The RAID 0+1 is for Audio & Video Capture, Hopefully lots more throughput!!
I also have a Promise (Fastrack, i think) IDE Raid Controller.
Any thoughs??
