The speakers I have now are Creative Labs 4 point surround FPS1000. I asked for the Klipsch Promedia 4.1 for xmas. My question is will I notice a huge difference in quality in games , music & dvd when/IF I get the new speakers. I know there is like a $200 price difference now but I was just wondering how much better they will be.

You should notice an improvement in the low-end frequency response. The highs, mids, and everything all-around should sound better and you should be able to reach a higher overall volume.

Yeah for dvd these speakers really suck. I have to turn the volume up all the way just to watch a movie.

For DVDs the Klipsch promedia's suck to...they have horrid midrange clarity. edit: though they are probably better than those FPS1000 you have now

They are excellent gaming speakers, and depending on the type of you music you like they might be great for that to.

But you can do far better for DVD quality.

I have the Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 5.1... awesome set of speakers, and awesome for DVD. I love it, and unless these breakdown, wouldn't think of upgrading ot the Klipsch.

i have the dtt2500 and my friend has the klipsh and my other friend has the altec lansing ada885. of these, the best one at dvd's is mine. the dtt2500. i love the remote control on the ada885. i don't like the sound on the ada885. the klipsch is goo though but it sucks at dvd's. it is only good for music but my dtt2500 is also good at music. if you are planning on watching dvd's then go for the dtt2500. if you are just a music freak AND have a need to play your music at rave party volumes then go for the klipsh. the best thing about the dtt2500 is that it can carry digital sound and it has a built in dolby surround decoder. the klipsch is analog sound. or you can just wait for the dtt 3500s.
