Stupid Question

Somethin's up with my mouse.... lately when I click things it acts as if i've double clicked. I've gone into the control panel and fiddled with the click speed, but no matter which side of the slider i set it, the same thing seems to happen

any clue? 🙁

PROFIT!

Exactly what he said. You could also try unplugging it or restarting the pc.🙂

And no, I don't think it's a stupid question. A mouse is an important part of the PC hardware and it needs to work/function properly.😀

hmmmmm...... you really think it's the mouse and not a setting?

which side of the slider is the ideal clicking speed, anyhow?

probably the contact switch under the mouse button is getting old; same thing's happening with mine. Gotta call up MS and get a new one

It's the mouse. We have a mouse at work that does that too, on every pc that we put at that station. It depends on how hard we click it though, if we click hard enough, it registers a double click. Except sometimes when it's moody, then everything becomes a double-click.

You can take the mouse apart and clean it out or just buy a new one. I'd just buy a new one if it's out of warranty.
