And it's stupid, no t.

And it's being finished by another team, so it may be slightly different (the co op mode being one of the major differences),

Yes. It should be out just around the same time as the PC version. There are screen shots on the offical web site (www.doom3.com) for the x-box version. As you will notice, not the same as the pc version. But still amazingly detailed.

Well diii is out Aug 3; Xbox version b4 xmas.

it'll be the best looking title for X-box (probably until xbox2 next year)

From Gamespot
There were no announcements regarding the Xbox version of Doom 3, which is being developed by Vicarious Visions and is scheduled to ship this fall.

What will be a good video card to run doom 3 with all the bells and whistles and at fairly high resolution. I"m not looking for top of the line card that will give me 100fps, but something that'll allow me to enjoy the game in all it's glory.

I'd say probably a 6800 non-ultra would be your best bang for the buck in that respect.

Wait until people benchmark the game with different cards before choosing which card to buy,
until then there is no real way to tell what will be the best card for the game, so asking is stupid.

screenshots of the Xbox version. It doesn't look as good as the PC version unfortunetly. I was hoping with all the console specific tweaking they'd surprise us. We'll see what the final product looks like.

Well when you're limited to 64 MB of RAM that doesn't help much. Textures are of course lower resolution... AA and AF are basically non-existant on the Xbox. Plus the hardware just doesn't have the capability to process Pixel Shader 2.0 type code... if it did, Pixel Shader 2.0 would be no big deal. Right now, PC graphics are ahead of console graphics. In another year or so, console graphics will probably be ahead of PC's because they'll be using pretty much the same hardware but won't have the "overhead" that a PC has to deal with. And HDTV's will be even more popular so resolution on the console will be about equal to the resolution on PC's right now.

You'd have to be pretty dumb to buy a first person shooter for the Xbox instead of PC as well. I really would like to see MS make Xbox 2 compatible with PC's for online games. PC gamers would utterly destroy the Xbox gamers with their little joysticks for aiming. Xbox needs a mouse!

Maybe some of us have their x-boxes downstairs, hooked up to big screen tv with nice leather couch to sit on and an air conditioner to keep us cool. Meanwhile, the pc is in the study, with a cheap $80 office max chair, no a/c and only a 19" monitor.

And some of us have our Xbox upstairs, hooked up to a 19 inch TV with no chair in a room that's always 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house... meanwhile, the PC is in another room with a $80 Office Max chair that's very comfortable and a 17" monitor. :D

Oh... sorry... I thought we were sharing our xbox and PC environments :D

Just considering my options. Wanted to know how much better PC graphics would be.
