This isn't really a case mod question but I'm trying to figure out where to mount the switch for my CCFL. Right now I have it hanging out the back of my case through one of the slots for the expansion slots. I'm using a dual inverter if that matters and it has 2 wires going into the switch. I was thinking (here comes the "dumb part) that I could take out those two wires and wire them to my motherboard's reset switch pin headers (If that makes sense). I dunno why I started thinking of this, probably because two wires, two pins :D

Is there any front panel device I could wire my switch to? Also what kind of wire can i use to extend the length of the two wires? They're not too long.

TIA! :)

reset switch is NOT on/off it's momentary contact... No switches on case fronts are on/off any more - all momentary. So if you want it on the front panel, you'll have to mod it there.
. So your ? is in the right place after all...

Ahh that's what I figured. Hmmm. Are there any front panel devices that I could use that would either take my 5 1/4 bay or 3 1/2. Also what kind of wire can I use to extend the power wires.

anywire of about the same guage will work. just get some butt splite connectors and a crimper from home depot/frys/radio shack. they look like plastic tubes that have a smaller metal tube insidie. u stick wires in and u use crimper to crush it together for a nice connection. you can go hog wild on extending wires etc with ease:p frys has the butt connectors for about 20 for 2 bux. a good crimper/wire cutter/stripper costs less then 10 dollars.

i mounted my switch in an empty 3 1/2" front panel. just dremiled a hole in there and stuck switch in:p the svc cathodes atleast come with a round plastic switch.
