stupid question, but will scanning a modem damage it?

Don't ask, but I need a picture of this modem and my digital camera is in N. Carolina. If I scan it will it hurt it? Anything magnetic or otherwise harmful in a scanner? :) Thanks.

Weirdest darn question I've seen in a while! No, scanning won't hurt a thing. You are taking a picture of it. The same exact way you would with a digicam. No harm done. Good luck. How are you going to get the modem thru the document feeder? ;)

Aren't you better off just ripping a pic of the modem from the manufacturer's homepage?:cool:

Just be careful of static. When you lift the lid on the scanner it may put a charge on both the lid and on the glass. Granted it's not enough electricity to get a bolt of lightning between the lid and the glass. Wiping both the lid and glass with a damp paper towel should remove any static.
