Stupid Question about PC Speaker

Does anyone know how I can disable the PC speaker? It's attached to the motherboard, so I can't unplug it, and even though I have all sounds disabled in the control panel, the stupid thing still beeps when starting ICQ and when I move the volume slider. It's driving me bugsh!t!!!!

There is no option in the BIOS to disable the onboard speaker. There is one for the onboard audio, which is disabled, though.

If you can't find anything else, a bit of duct tape over it (I'm guessing it's one of those small piezo speakers since it's on your MB) should muffle it quiet well.

That's a thought, but I'd like to actually be able to trade this board in next year when it fails. (Note that I said when, not if! 😀 )

I guess I'll have to live with it.

Thanks!
