Stupid nVidia

Man why can't they have like a happy medium between the 6600GT and the 6800GT. I want a little more than two 6600GTs but I don't wanna spend like 800 bucks on two 6800GTs. Why can't I just get one of each and be happy, or why can't they have a damn 6700. Stupid nVidia.

They are coming out with a 6700 which will be pci-e.

Ahh I don't think you guys quite understand my situation. I'm gonna go SLI, but I don't wanna spend over 600. But thanks to Bleh, I think I have a plan kinda sorta:

Athlon 64 skt 939 3000+ (maybe 3200+ when it comes out retail skt 939)
2x 6800STD PCIe based off the NV41 chipset (these better be SLI ready)

The NV41 is supposed to be the PCIe version of the 6800STD, and it's NOT gonna be named the 6700, just gonna be the 6800PCIe. Oh well, all's good.

http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=18962 Here's theinquirer's latest article. I really hope this card is SLI ready because this is like the perfect card, as good as the 6600GT but 256 bit instead. Anyway, how long does it take after a chipset is shipped for the actual GPU's to come out? nVidia doesn't have news on this at their site...

now why would you want to buy 2 6600gts, when u can get a single 6800 or 6800gt for about the same price which will have near the same performance and then u have the room to add a second when u get the money.

Exactly Footbal07. I don't wanna get 2 6600GT's when they're less than Ultra power, but I don't wanna get 2 6800GT's either since that's like 800 to 900 bucks. That's why I wanna know if there's something in the middle I can get. It turns out the NF41 chipsets are 6800 standards in PCIe, which is better than a 6600GT (or about the same, except with 256bit), and cost less (250ish) than a 6800GT.

MAN THESE THINGS BETTER BE SLI READY, but I'm pretty sure it will be since most 6 series cards are/will be.
