Stupid NF2 question??

I've been reading about the great memory performance of the new NForce motherboards using the dual DDR memory interface, my question is does the system have access to the combined amount of memory set in the dual channel mode - ie. 2 x 256 modules = 512 total for the system memory or would it be 256MB - thanks.

it runs like raid 0, where data is split into 2 and stored into the corresponding memory
so you will get twice the bandwidth and and be able to use all of your memory(i.e. 256 x 2=512)

Thanks for the info,
I've ordered an Abit NF-S along with a XP+2200 and will compare it to my current Aopen AX4GE Max/1.8a oc'ed to 2.4. I'm hoping I can OC the Athlon to get better performance then with my present rig which isin't bad but doesn't allow higher memory bandwith due to a lack of multiplier options to run the memory faster than 333MHz.
